Why fly private to St. Barts
St. Barts is the Caribbean's most exclusive address, and getting there is part of the legend. The island's famous short runway is one of the most storied approaches in private aviation.
St. Barts (SBH) has a very short runway suited only to specific turboprops and piston aircraft, flown by pilots with special qualification. The standard path for larger jets is to fly into Princess Juliana, St. Maarten (SXM), then transfer by turboprop or helicopter for the short hop over.
Choosing your aircraft
For the direct SBH arrival, a turboprop (such as a PC-12 or King Air) is the realistic choice. For larger groups or jets, plan on St. Maarten plus a connecting flight or helicopter.
Arrival tips
Winds and weather around the island can change quickly — your pilot will assess on the day. The St. Maarten transfer is part of the experience and adds only a short time to your journey.
