Why fly private to New York
New York is the beating heart of global private aviation. More charter flights begin or end in the New York area than almost anywhere else, and the region is built to receive them — a web of dedicated general-aviation airports, FBOs, and helicopter links that get you from runway to meeting in under an hour.
The right airport matters. Teterboro (TEB) is the workhorse for Manhattan: a dedicated private airport in New Jersey, roughly 15 minutes by helicopter from Midtown. Westchester County (HPN) serves the northern suburbs and Connecticut. Newark (EWR) handles longer-range international arrivals.
Choosing your aircraft
For transcontinental flights from the West Coast or nonstop from Europe, a heavy jet or ultra-long-range jet is the right call. From the East Coast or Midwest, a light or midsize jet is more than enough — and far more economical.
Arrival tips
Avoid rush hours when helicopter slots tighten, and consider a late-evening arrival to skip the region's busiest windows. Your operator can arrange a helicopter transfer or a car waiting on the ramp.
